This is the second post in a series of posts about coding abstractions into your applications. Abstractions are a technical concept, so it also takes some technical thought on breaking those points down.

Generally speaking, a point of abstraction is really a “component” representing a piece of functionality where the application expects it to behave in a certain way, but the implementation of that behavior will vary, sometimes dramatically.

This is the third and final post in a series of posts about coding abstractions into your applications. Abstractions are a technical concept rather than a business concept, however, if you're a non-developer, you can still benefit from these posts to get a better idea of how and why certain changes to an application might take longer than others, and why your developer teammates might be taking longer to design certain parts of an application in the first place.
